<span id=subhead>Daniel Doucette<br>
Filmmaker<br>
ICF Class of '00</span>
</p>

<p>
Daniel was born and raised in the mid-city area of Los Angeles and lives with his parents and younger brother.
</p>

<p>
He always loved films and art but realized at a young age that he was also very musically inclined. He started playing the trumpet and joined the school orchestra after his grandfather exposed him to all the greats at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Daniel kept listening to the jazz music and knew his goal was to play in a jazz band.
</p>

<p>
His passion for music grew as he explored rap music, started writing lyrics, and worked with studio equipment. He composed music for his lyrics by trying to combine his love of jazz with the hip-hop beats.
</p>

<p>
Daniel graduated from Hamilton High School where his favorite subjects were Video Production, Social Sciences, and History.
</p>

<p>
His Video Production teacher recommended him for <b>Inner-City Filmmakers 2000 Summer Program</b> where he made a film about growing up wild on the streets. "When I started playing music, I gave up my drawing, but after making this film I realized that I have an eye for the camera and composition because of my art."
</p>

<p>
<i>"ICF has given me a real direction. It gave me confidence that I could make my dreams come true. And it teaches you how you can make things happen for yourself."</i>
