<span id=subhead>David Nguyen<br>
Director<br>
ICF Class of '99</span>
</p>

<p>
David was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When he was in the second grade, he moved to Los Angeles with his two younger sisters after his Vietnamese father and African American mother separated.
</p>

<p>
Since elementary school, David knew he wanted to be in film. In high school, he had an opportunity to take acting classes but changed his mind when the classes seemed disorganized and the process not as exciting as he had expected.
</p>

<p>
Because of films like Star Wars, Aliens, Terminator, and Titanic, David was also interested in directing. He did his research, reading everything he could get his hands on about directing, and over time decided this was the course he wanted to follow. He liked the idea of being in control.
</p>

<p>
David graduated from Reseda High School where his favorite subject was History.
</p>

<p>
After graduating from the <b>Inner-City Filmmakers 1999 Summer Program</b>, which he had been looking forward to since the 9th grade, David became a full time student at Pasadena City College. Through ICF he has had the opportunity to work as a Production P.A. on various TV commercials and for Delphi Productions/HBO on <i>Disappearing Act</i>. He is further developing his filmmaking skills in the ICF Intermediate Avid Editing Class.
</p>

<p>
<i>"ICF has taught me a lot about the various aspects of filmmaking, and that everyone and every job is important to the whole process. ICF is the helping hand for anybody interested in filmmaking."</i>
