<span id=subhead>Margie Rosete<br>
Writer/Director<br>
ICF Class of '00</span>
</p>

<p>
Margie was born in Olangapo, Phillipines. She moved frequently with her parents and two older brothers living alternately in Nigeria, Miami, Chicago, and Texas. Because of this, Margie has had an opportunity to meet many people from different ethnic backgrounds and concludes that, "People are basically all the same. We need to help each other, not judge each other."
</p>

<p>
Margie learned to love film through her mother, who would always take her to see movies. At thirteen she was inspired by a combination of Miss Saigon and Chuck Norris in Delta Force and came up with a story idea, which she quickly wrote.

<p>
Because filmmaking would be tough to get into, and she had no idea where to begin, Margie made journalism her focus. In high school she volunteered to be on the Yearbook committee three years in a row. "I loved it!"
</p>

<p>
Margie graduated from Lakeview Centennial High School in Dallas, Texas where her favorite subjects were English and History. As an independent and determined person, she moved to Los Angeles, alone, to attend Santa Monica College and get enough credits to follow her dream to film school. While attending SMC in '99 she met an ICF grad, and ... the rest is history.
</p>

<p>
After graduating from the <b>Inner-City Filmmakers 2000 Summer Program</b> where she made a film on the perils of dating, Margie continues to be a student at SMC while working on her next project in the ICF Screenwriting Class.

<p>
<i>"ICF is a jumpstart into the film business, which is really hard to break into. ICF teaches you a lot about yourself, commitment, hard work as well as filmmaking. It gave me a chance to test myself and I liked it."</i>
