Career Development / Jobs Placement Program - ongoing and available year-round mentoring, counseling, and job placement services provided for all of our alumni. We provide access to crucial contacts, resources, and jobs. We provide moral and mental support and assist our graduates in charting a successful path towards their aspirations.

Because each individual's goal is distinct, and each has different career aspirations, the breadth of available jobs within the entertainment industry and the interest of the served population vary significantly. We encourage and help them build their careers.

Since 1993, with the help of our generous supporters, we have CHANGED the lives of hundreds of diverse disadvantaged youth from - babysitter, tree-trimmer, custodian, lemonade and donut salespersons, roadside fruit seller, foster child, homeless living at bus stops or in a car without gas - to career building jobs, respected industry employees at every major motion picture studio, successful members of various craft unions. We are proud to say they have also become ICF mentors, job providers, and community leaders.

Jobs that ICF has been able to help students garner include, but are not limited to: animation artists, apprentice editors, art directors, assistant directors, cameramen, camera loaders, camera prep technicians, compositing artists, directors, editors, film preservationists, IT specialists, location scouts, office and set production assistants, production coordinators, picture vehicle technicians, electricians, casting, development, personal management, props, wardrobe, hair/makeup, screenwriters, sound mixers, set dressers, still photographers, and more.

Today, our graduates are members of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Cinematographers Guild, Costume, Grip, Prop Masters, and the Studio Electrical Lighting Technicians Unions and the Directors Guild of America. Our students are well-trained to successfully compete in college and today's job market.

Gil Kenan, Director, Monster House, is a 1994 ICF graduate and a 2007 Academy Award® nominee for Best Animated Feature Film. Monster House was Gil's first film, which was executive produced by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg. Gil also directed City of Ember, his first live-action film, which was executive produced by Walden Media and Playtone partners Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks.

Our graduates have earned PhD's and Masters Degrees from well-known universities and have been selected for choice internships at various motion picture studios and production companies.

Our graduates also compete and succeed in other businesses - Elvis Stumbergs, UCLA School of Law, now works for the FCC and lives in Washington D.C. Lucia De La Riva, Masters Degree in Public Administration, works for Los Angeles County. Julio Lagos, Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from USC, works with Los Angeles County youth and their families. Janet Ceja, Masters Degree in Film Preservation from the Rochester Technical Institute, is now a Film Preservationist for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences...and more.
